Course overview

The Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Studies is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills by covering the following mandatory units;facial skincare, waxing, eyelash and eyebrow treatments, manicure, pedicure, client care and health and safety.

To further enhance your practical skills you will have the opportunity to choose from the following optional units; Provide threading services or display stock to promote sales in a salon.

Underpinning this qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety practice. You will also develop knowledge and understanding of the practical skills learned throughout this qualification.

The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in beauty therapy to a high level of occupational ability, to enable you to perform your own salon services.

Provide facial skin care treatment
Provide eyelash and brow treatments
Carry out waxing services

Provide pedicure services
Provide make-up services
Provide threading services or display stock to promote sales in a salon
Follow health and safety practice in the salon

Course Details

This course provides the essential knowledge and understanding needed to help you start your career as a Therapist. Each unit consists of theory and practical training, assessments and exams.

This qualification may lead directly into employment in the beauty therapy industry as:

• a junior beauty therapist in a salon,

• a beauty consultant in the retail industry, or

• self-employment as a mobile beauty therapist.

Structure

This course consists of 5 days practical training at Lash and Thread to learn your practical skills. You will complete written coursework at home flexibly over the course of 3-6 months. Written coursework/assignements will be required prior to sitting multichoice online exams. You will also complete 3 days of practical assessments where you will need to supply your own models.

Locations

All practical training and assessment are completed at our Brighton school. Home study and assignments will be required to complete the course.

Qualifications

On completion you will gain a VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Studies.

Entry Requirements

A good level of English, successful interview and initial assessment. Potential learners need to be able to demonstrate dedication and commitment to learning and have aspirations to work and progress into the industry.
